Batangas is one of the top spots for visitors to travel to for good reason: the scenery is gorgeous thanks to being right next to the iconic tall volcano, historical sites, pretty towns, and panoramic lookout points all along the drive.

At first I was hesitant that visiting 8 tourist spots in Batangas in 1 day is possible. I discovered the facebook page of 8D/1D TOUR Challenges  that offers tour packages for  La Union, Batangas and Rizal. I decided to give it a try and joined one of their tours for Batangas.

Our call time is at 5 am but I came in late. I arrived at our pick up location around 6 am. I thought that I wouldn’t be able to make it. Good thing, I texted Claudine (tour coordinator) and she waited for me. When I arrived, I was welcomed by the other joiners with a clap and their friendly smiles. My bad! :p

Our first stop is the Marian Orchard, a Catholic theme park located in the municipality of Balete, right before the pilgrimage city of Lipa.

It serves as a spiritual oasis that will promote the Roman Catholic religion through the propagation of Marian devotion and other religious activities that will inspire a renewal of faith.

Taal Heritage Town is an amazing place, rich in history. You can reach the market, plaza, Basilica of St. Martin, Caysasay Church and their little commercial area by just walking. Walking around town is like stepping back in time, nice people.

Roads are narrow similar to those of Intramuros. The place is great but there’s so little to do. The main attraction is the Basilica of Saint Martin, a must to visit for everyone. Food is also good, Batangas Lomi is rich and flavorful! 🙂

Fantasy World in Lemery, Batangas, was intended to be the Disneyland of the Philippines, but the ambitious Japanese proprietor couldn’t secure enough funds and everything now lays half finished atop a little hill.

Sweeping grasslands, towering castles, maze and thrilling rides can be seen inside Fantasy World. Walking around this theme park is quite tiring so don’t forget to bring your water.

Yabut River Resort is a calming and eco-friendly river resort. Perfect place to relax and recharge in prepation for our last 3 destinations.

This resort is spectacular. I simply cannot fault it. The views of the river were very nice.

Discover the magic of the Gingerbread House. The Gingerbread House is all about the sweet! Milkshake, muffins, ice cone, fine chocolates, cookies & gingerbread.

Kids will surely love this place! I’ll be visiting this place again pretty soon so I can share the same experience with my family.

Bulalo is a beef soup comprised of shank with bone marrow still inside the bone. It is considered to be one of the most favorite main dishes in the Philippines.

Because of the popularity of this Filipino food, restaurants and eateries specializing in cooking Bulalo were put-up. Diner’s Orinal Bulalo is one of the most popular Bulalo restaurants in Tagaytay.

Sky Ranch is our final stop. Looking at Sky Eye at night is quite an overwhelming experience. I just took a picture of Sky Ranch’s famous Ferris Wheel and decided to stay on the van.

If there was one piece of advice I have for people today to experience more joy in life, it is to travel more. We all want to take that vacation, career break, or gap year trip. There are many great destinations that don’t cost a fortune.
