The Taoid Museum is the latest addition to the places to visit in Ilocos Norte. Located at La Tabacalera Lifestyle Center in Laoag City, the Taoid Museum showcases the pre-colonial side of Ilocandia and the province’s Cordilleran roots.

The Taoid Museum was inspired and put together by nationally renowned screenwriter, Mr. Floy Quintos, and designed by Mr. Ohm David, resident technical director of Dulaang Unibersidad ng Pilipinas. We were lucky enough that that Mr. Floy Quintos was present at the Taoid Museum during our visit. He is very kind enough to present himself to be our tour guide around the Taoid Museum.

You are really seeing human skulls here. The Cordillera people were known as headhunters.

Coffins for storing the bones of ancestors.

It is evident that they spent a lot of time collecting artwork from throughout the Cordillera region and that Mr. Floy Quintos has a talent for displaying them. This extremely well-done museum is clearly worth an hour or two of your time.
