It was always been a dream for me to visit Vigan which is now considered as one of the 7 wonder cities in the world. My wife and I agreed to try a 2 hour Kalesa Tour to visit Vigan’s tourist attractions like Calle Crisologo, Baluarte, Bantay Church and Bell Tower.
Tired from our Kalesa Tour, I asked our kutsero where can we buy an authentic Vigan empanada then he recommended Irene’s Vigan empanada along Calle Crisologo. He said that it is the best Vigan empanada in the city.
Vigan Empanada- Php35.00
Super crispy on the outside, the empanada crackles with every bite. It is a bit oily, though, so you can choose to follow it up with softdrinks.
They say that the Okoy is a Filipino version of the shrimp tempura, while the Empanada is our own adaptation of the Japanese dumpling. Vigan’s Okoy is made of rice flour, tomatoes, chives and shrimp.
Vigan Longganisa Lumpiang Shanghai- Php10.00
Vigan Longganisa- Php60.00
Everything that we’ve ordered are not just heavenly delicious but also very affordable. To complete your Vigan experience you should visit Irene’s Vigan Empanada where the locals go for their empanada fix.
